At public comment, several community members raised operational and neighborhood concerns.
A hangar tenant at Manassas Regional Airport, Richard Bray, said the airport’s new website and gate-card renewal process left him locked out and that repeated inquiries to airport management received slow or unsatisfactory responses. "Tenants ... pay about $3,600,000 per year to keep the airport running. It'd be nice to be appreciated," Bray told council.
Other residents urged improved two-way engagement from city leaders. Janet Plebniak thanked the mayor for referencing the state SNAP emergency and urged council to ensure residents feel heard. Cannon Ridge HOA board member Audrey Sinsali asked council to remind campaigns and canvassers to respect HOA no-trespass rules and not leave materials on private doorsteps, citing litter and security risks.
Diane Lane, a city resident volunteer, praised the new speed indicator on Center Street near City Hall and suggested adding flashing lights at a heavily used downtown crosswalk to increase visibility with upcoming downtown redevelopment.
Council and staff acknowledged the comments and pledged follow-up where appropriate (airport staff to contact the tenant; staff to consider pedestrian-safety recommendations and outreach improvements).
