Port Richey committee schedules Meet Your Neighbor, cleanup and flags spring festivals

The Port Richey Citizens Advisory Committee reviewed and promoted a series of community events at its Jan. 8 meeting, including a ‘Meet Your Neighbor’ reception and an aligned countywide cleanup.
Members agreed to promote a Meet Your Neighbor networking/meet-and-greet event at Cancun Beach Bar & Grill on Monday, Jan. 12, with a planned 6–8 p.m. time slot and an option to coordinate with the Nature Coast Chamber of Commerce’s networking event. The committee asked staff to contact event organizers and post promotion on the city website.
On public-works coordination, committee members discussed joining Keep Pasco Beautiful for the countywide cleanup. They identified March 7 as the preferred date and selected Waterfront Park as the primary cleanup site. Members also noted a Seafood Festival and an event-oriented fishing tournament scheduled for mid-March (around March 14) and discussed avoiding scheduling conflicts.
The committee agreed to prepare flyers, confirm logistics with the county’s Keep Pasco Beautiful organizers, and plan the cleanup for an 8–10 a.m. volunteer window to allow volunteers to resume their days afterward.
No formal actions or funding allocations were taken at the meeting; staff will follow up with event organizers and report details back at a subsequent CAC meeting.
