The Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals approved an exception for Lake City Power Sports to change an existing auto sales use to a motorcycle sales/service and repair use and to construct a new building, subject to staff conditions.
Brian Campbell, representing Lake City, said the current sales building is deteriorated and will be removed and that any outside display would be limited to a fenced area; he told the board they “have no intention of using that track” referenced in past ownership, addressing a nearby resident’s concerns about noise. Staff and board members added conditions including no outside repairs or service, outside storage/display limited to good, saleable condition and screening; a board member also requested an as‑built provided by a licensed surveyor once construction is complete.
With those conditions accepted by the petitioner, the board voted to approve the exception and permitted demolition and initiation of the permitting process.
