Wake County opens new 154,000-square-foot public health center; Ross cites $2 million in federal support

Wake County leaders on Monday marked the opening of a new Wake County Public Health Center, a four-story, 154,000-square-foot facility the county says will centralize public-health services and expand capacity for clinical care.
Don Myle, who introduced himself as chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, said the new center replaces the Sunnybrook clinic and was designed to make visits easier for families, with space for about 100 patients at a time, 88 exam rooms and 20 dental treatment rooms. "This new public health center is a whopping 154,000 square feet," Myle said, urging visitors to tour the facility.
