Animal shelter unveils design meeting and wins $30,000 in donations from council settlement

The council accepted a total of $30,000 in animal-shelter donations and authorized allocating $15,000 for general shelter supplies and $15,000 for medical needs; the appropriation was approved by voice vote. Members encouraged outreach to increase donations and to use the design presentation to galvanize community support.
Next steps: the shelter will hold the Jan. 21 meeting and the auditor will process the donated funds so they are available for shelter needs.
