Peabody planning board elects officers, seats members and welcomes new member Jeff Saliba

At its Jan. 15 meeting the Peabody City Planning Board elected officers for the coming year and assigned seating numbers for roll-call votes.
A member moved to recommend Tom Bettencourt as chairman; the board recorded roll-call affirmations and the motion carried. John Ford was then elected vice chairman; he accepted and members voted in favor. Joe Gagnon was nominated and elected secretary in a subsequent roll call.
The board then assigned seating numbers to establish the order for roll-call votes. During the meeting Dr. Otto announced a legal name change to Judith Otto Cacciati and asked staff to update records.
Newly seated member Jeff Saliba was welcomed by colleagues and introduced himself, saying he is a Peabody resident since 2015, the business manager for the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 6 (representing about 600 members), serves as financial secretary, participates on the joint apprenticeship committee and is appointed to the state's apprenticeship council. Saliba said he looks forward to serving the community.
The meeting adjourned after a motion and second.
