Eastport association offers $150 aid for residents; commission seeks school mentors

At the Jan. 14 meeting Quela Cooper said the Eastport Neighborhood Association is offering one-time $150 assistance to Eastport residents who are struggling financially and asked residents to email referrals. Cooper provided contact details during the meeting.
Separately, Commissioner Kamisha Williams asked for volunteers to mentor at Marsh and Pine elementary schools for one hour per week during the school day. Williams said volunteers can sign up or find information at familyadvocates.com and offered to share a link with interested commissioners.
