Summary
Council authorized an interlocal agreement whereby Reeves County will manage construction and the city will reimburse up to $689,410 to add a water line extension on West Lincoln Street to Olive Street, reducing disruption and contractor duplication.
Assistant Public Works Director Michael Baca asked the council to approve an interlocal agreement with Reeves County that permits the city to add a water-line extension to the county's ongoing Lincoln Street project. Under the agreement the county will manage construction through its existing contractor and the city will reimburse the county for the water-line portion not to exceed $689,410.
Baca said the scope includes installing 6-inch and 8-inch mains, fire hydrants, driveway and sidewalk replacements at certain entrances and traffic control; the added city work is expected to add approximately 27 working days to the county's timeline but reduce public disruption by keeping one contractor on-site. Council approved the agreement by voice vote.
