Senate Joint Resolution 7, a measure honoring the 50th anniversary of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), was approved by the Senate Transportation, Highways & Military Affairs Committee and will be forwarded for further legislative consideration.
Sponsor Senator Pappas said the resolution repeats language passed informally last year and was being filed formally so both houses could pass and the governor could sign the measure. “We all signed it, and it was forwarded to NCSL,” Pappas said, and the resolution now would follow the formal legislative path so it would become an official state resolution.
No members of the public testified for or against the resolution in committee. The committee moved the resolution on a motion by Senator Anderson with a second by Senator Pappas; a roll call recorded five ayes. The committee chair closed public testimony and sent the resolution forward.
