Planning update: Valleywood benefit-district expansion and water project grant status

Riley County planning staff briefed commissioners on several ongoing infrastructure and grant items, including a pending public hearing on expanding a combined sewer/stormwater benefit district in Valleywood and status updates on water-project grant applications.

Planning staff said a property owner who owns a majority of the remaining lots filed a petition to expand the Valleywood benefit district to include additional lots. Engineering work continues on preliminary alignment and property-owner coordination. Staff indicated construction would likely occur in 2026 with completion in early 2027, pending funding.
