The City of Oakland Park Planning and Zoning Board on Feb. 10 voted unanimously to recommend that the City Commission approve the final plat for Cypress Creek East, a proposed mixed-use development at the southwest corner of Cypress Creek Road and Interstate 95.
The recommendation covers a final plat for an 8.4 gross-acre (6.95 net-acre) site currently used as an FDOT parking lot. The companion master development plan submitted at the Development Review Committee (DRC) level proposes 286 mid-rise residential units and 25,000 square feet of commercial space for office and retail uses.
Board members were presented the plat by city staff planner Diego, who described the site and the application. Nektaria Chakis, representing Cypress Creek Leaseholder LLC, told the board the submission is substantially the same as the preliminary plat previously approved…
