Rules Committee reports three reviser bills favorably

Senator DePasadomo, who was recognized to explain SB 100, described it as "the adoption Act." He said, "SB 100 is the adoption Act. It has nothing to do with children and families. The bill prospectively adopts the 2026 Florida Statutes as an official document, and more importantly, adopts as official statute, law of the state, all statute materials passed by the 2025 regular session." There were no appearance forms or debate on SB 100; the clerk, Cindy, called the roll and Vice Chair Jones stated, "And by your vote, SB 100 is reported favorably." The committee recorded the item as reported favorably to the next step.
Chair Pasadomo explained SB 102 as a housekeeping measure to delete statutory provisions that have been rendered of no effect by a prior repeal or expiration. "Senate bill 102 deletes statutory provisions that were repealed by an earlier session of the legislature if that repeal or expiration date has now occurred, rendering the provision of no effect," Chair Pasadomo said. No appearance forms or debate were filed; the roll was called and the committee reported SB 102 favorably.
Chair Pasadomo also presented SB 104, which she described as the general reviser's bill for the Florida Statutes. She said the bill "deletes obsolete language, updates cross references, and corrects grammatical and typographical errors in the statutes." The committee took no testimony or debate, the clerk called the roll, and Vice Chair Jones announced SB 104 was reported favorably.
The meeting record notes that several senators asked to be recorded as voting on tabs 1 and 2. The chair said the committee would meet again on Thursday, Senator Martin moved to adjourn, and the committee adjourned.
