Woonsocket council approves licenses, minutes and tree warden; tables finance-director pension exemption

Appointments and resolutions: Resolution 26 R01 to appoint Donald Cipe as tree warden — a state-required annual appointment — was approved 7 to 0. A separate resolution, 26 R02, which requested enabling legislation to exempt Finance Director James Lapart from the Rhode Island Municipal Employees Retirement System, was introduced but tabled by the sponsor as a personnel-type matter; the motion to table passed by roll call, 7 to 0.
No other binding policy decisions or budgetary appropriations were adopted at the meeting.
