Assembly approves mayor salary and housing partnership, moves on next steps

Ordinance 25-17: The assembly unanimously approved the mayor's salary ordinance after brief remarks in support of the mayor. The roll-call vote was unanimous.
Resolution 25-20 (Minnesota Housing Partnership): The assembly approved a two-year engagement with Minnesota Housing Partnership to perform a comprehensive housing assessment, public input and follow-on technical assistance. The mayor and members said the engagement would be backdated to Oct. 1 for eligible expenses, would not require a cash match from the borough beyond demonstrating a nonfederal commitment and could help the borough with development planning including the Lignite subdivision and housing implementation steps.
Next steps: Minnesota Housing Partnership is expected to return in the spring with further presentations. Assembly members said they expect public input and plan to integrate the partnership's assessment into planning and implementation steps.
