Tarr also introduced Ronald Dean Dole Jr., who Tarr said began in communications as a merchant mariner, later became a dispatcher in 1993, served 27 years and took his final shift on Dec. 13, 2025. Dole was accompanied by Kathleen Zola and Sergeant Kara Fitzpatrick of the Oxford Police Department. Tarr said the Senate would present citations at the conclusion of the informal session.
The remarks were framed as expressions of appreciation; no policy action or personnel changes resulted from the recognition itself. The Senate moved on to adjourn after the presentations and the scheduled business.
