"We do generally do two budget amendments a year, and this will be our first one in February," the presenter (David) said, explaining that departments submitted data in November and December and that the county will publish notice in local papers roughly two weeks before the hearing to satisfy the 10–20 day publication window. He said a detailed memo describing changes will be provided at the hearing because he will be absent from the Committee of the Whole meeting two weeks later.
Staff indicated the amendment arises from a mix of revenue increases and some unexpected costs; the detailed memo accompanying the public notice will list line-item changes. No formal vote tally was recorded in committee.
