Linn County approves routine minutes and claims, reappoints health board member; facilities HVAC replacement to appear on consent agenda

The board approved minutes for Nov. 24 and Nov. 25 by voice vote. An unnamed board member moved to approve claims dated Nov. 28, 2025, listing $874,633.86 in standard claims and ER funds/wire of $199,396.59 for a total of $1,074,030.45; the motion carried by voice vote.
Facilities Director Luke Fisher described a planned replacement of three rooftop HVAC units after one unit failed and said three competitive bids were obtained; the project cost discussed was $49,826.48 and will be paid from the county's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) funds. Fisher said staff will check with county accountants about possible geothermal rebates and that the contract will remain on the consent agenda for the Wednesday meeting for formal approval.
The board approved payroll authorizations by voice vote. The presiding official moved to reappoint Linda Langston to the Linn County Board of Public Health for a three-year term effective Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2028; an unnamed board member seconded. A board member praised Langston for her prior service and expertise. The motion carried by voice vote.
The presiding official also thanked the secondary roads department for snow-removal work over the holiday weekend and reminded the public that a budget forum for community input on the county budget is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. the same day.
