City staff asked the Huber Heights City Council to schedule a public hearing for the Creekside Woods TIF, a proposed residential development of 159 townhomes, and proposed Monday, Jan. 12 for that hearing to meet statutory notice requirements.
Staff said the TIF notifications required to schools, the county and property owner have been completed. "This TIF first came to council in the summer of last year to review. It's a 159 town homes," staff said, noting the procedural calendar: work-session review on Feb. 17, a first reading on Feb. 23, and the possibility of final adoption as an emergency thereafter.
Council members confirmed the hearing must occur before construction starts so the city can capture the full improvement value, and staff agreed to schedule the public hearing for Jan. 12. There will be no first reading until the 30-day period after the public hearing has elapsed, staff said.
