Boulder County Parks & Open Space announces multiple long-term staff retirements and upcoming transitions

During the November POSEAC meeting, Parks and Open Space staff and the advisory committee recognized multiple upcoming retirements and announced administrative changes.
Janice Wissman, real estate division manager, announced she will retire December 4; Melissa Arnold and other staff thanked her for 20 years of service. Director Therese Kolocki said the county offered a voluntary separation incentive program to employees with 15 or more years of service and that Parks and Open Space had several staff accept that offer. She noted two other staff central to POSEAC operations (Renata Frey and Vivit Janardpour) also are retiring this year and that an interim director had not been named.
Kolocki also reviewed operational items unrelated to personnel: a newly released Parks and Open Space podcast episode, near-completion of the Prince Lake dam restoration project, Loggerman parking improvements, and progress on the Prairie Run trail and parking construction. She reminded the committee that the countywide open-space sales tax ballot measure had been extended by voters and said the county would launch a public questionnaire as part of an Ag Division Manager recruitment process.
Next steps: staff transition planning and recruitment for vacant positions including Ag Division Manager; staff will update POSEAC as hiring and interim leadership are arranged.
