Commissioners call up SPR25-0063 for public hearing over accessory-use questions

County staffer Sam Walker told commissioners Oct. 28 that a determination letter had been issued on Oct. 15 for site-plan review application SPR25-0063 and that commissioners had requested the application be called up. One commissioner said they had questions — particularly whether the proposed use is an accessory use — and asked that the application be noticed for public hearing so those questions can be addressed in a duly noticed forum.

"I'm here requesting that the commissioners make a determination of whether or not a public hearing will be held for this application," Sam Walker said. A commissioner noted the process requires a noticed hearing to ask substantive questions and the board voted to call up SPR25-0063 and schedule a hearing (date to be noticed).

No hearing date was set during the Oct. 28 meeting; staff said they would provide notice once a date is determined. The call-up does not represent approval or denial of the application; it simply moves the item to a noticed public hearing so the board and public can examine the accessory-use question and other details.

What happens next: Staff will set and publish a hearing date for SPR25-0063 and provide notice to interested parties; the board will take public testimony and consider the application at that noticed hearing.
