Chandler cited Metro Denver Homelessness Initiative point‑in‑time data showing a 45% reduction in unsheltered homelessness since the 2023 high watermark and said Office of the Medical Examiner figures show deaths among people experiencing homelessness peaked in 2023, declined in 2024 and were below that high watermark in 2025; he added that “around 75 percent” of those deaths were related to overdoses.
