Baberton council approves multiple ordinances including refuse appeal refund and Main Street payments

Baberton City Council on Nov. 24 passed a slate of ordinances and appropriations, including changes to the city’s refuse-appeal process, multiple departmental appropriations and contract authorizations.
Ordinance 163 (adopted) amended the codified refuse-collection chapter to stipulate that if a person receives a citation or fine for a trash-container violation and appeals to the Board of Appeals, the required $25 appeal filing fee shall be refunded if the Board overturns the violation. The ordinance was moved and adopted under a suspension of rules by roll-call vote.
