DUNDEE — Councilors discussed recent administrative adjustments and agreed to maintain a staff-suggested one-day weekly office closure through the holidays, and to postpone a comprehensive year-end newsletter until January.
Speaker 2 explained staff temporarily closed the office one day a week to allow uninterrupted work time and said staff recommended Friday as the least disruptive day. "We agreed to, close your office to 1 day a week to let the staff have uninterrupted time to focus on getting some some work done," Speaker 2 said. Staff member Speaker 5 confirmed Mondays and Tuesdays are busiest and that Friday is the least impactful day for public service continuity.
The council emphasized that the new city administrator may revisit the practice and that staff gave door notices and newsletter updates to inform the public. Members asked staff to reassess the arrangement after the holidays and to consider alternatives (half-days or rotating schedules) if operational impacts arise. No policy change was enacted; the council left the Fridays closure in place for now.
