Speaker 2 reported procurement has produced a draft contract for the Justice Center wall mosaic that is now with the county legal department; after legal review the artist will review and negotiate and staff tentatively targeted a June installation window depending on schedules. The Senior Center security gate requires a small contractor contract for installation; staff said that, if procurement and scheduling align, installation by December is possible.
The Nature Center sculpture contract was written and sent to legal on the tenth; once cleared, staff expect to coordinate artist/gallery negotiations and installation. Speaker 2 said one artist (Carrie Quaid) withdrew from a stipend competition citing rising bronze costs and an outside commission, leaving three finalists; council approved stipend funding levels noted in the packet, and contracts are the next step.
Staff noted the art-archive software contract expires in May 2026 and procurement has issued a request for quotes rather than a full RFP; vendors were asked to submit quotes in line with county procurement rules. Members asked staff to bring back more detail on workplan timelines and any site changes (such as possible relocation of a memorial wall) to inform contract timing.
