Later in the meeting Mr. Standish announced an executive session pursuant to ARS 38‑431.03(A)(1) and (A)(3) for personnel matters to discuss and affirm town attorney candidates for interview. Mayor Winfield moved to go into executive session with the human resources director, the town attorney and the town clerk; the motion was seconded and approved by a 7–0 voice vote. The council reconvened in open session and Mayor Winfield moved, “as directed,” to approve any direction to the town attorney and necessary staff regarding the town attorney search; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The meeting was then adjourned by unanimous voice vote. No further details about candidates or personnel deliberations were disclosed in open session.
