Residents press Jefferson County on airport noise and use of Flock Safety cameras

Dr. Michael Verdone of Superior described daily training flights over his home and said he has filed complaints, requested records and read county guidance, but concluded "the county is aware of the impacts, and the county has chosen not to act." He said residents will keep pushing for "meaningful engagement and real action to reduce them."
Aaron Shills, a Jefferson County resident, asked the board for transparency about the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office use of Flock Safety cameras. Citing recent local news, he said other Colorado jurisdictions have ended Flock contracts and that Loveland Police Department earlier this year was found to have shared Flock data with immigration enforcement in a way he described as illegal under a state law passed this year. "These systems are dangerous," Shills said, and said his open records requests about the county's agreements had not received a substantive response.
No immediate policy actions were announced in response to those comments during the meeting; county staff noted the comments and proceeded with the published agenda.
