Greensboro council approves consent agenda, $2.21M temporary‑labor contract and makes appointments

The Greensboro City Council on Nov. 10 handled routine business including a unanimous vote on a consent agenda, approval of a temporary‑labor contract, and a board appointment.
The council approved the consent agenda by voice vote; the presiding officer recorded the outcome as 7–0 with two members absent. Councilmember Hightower moved the consent agenda, which includes grouped routine items that are voted on together unless pulled for discussion.
On the general business agenda, the council approved a contract with Blue Arbor Inc. for temporary labor services in the amount of $2,209,833.60. The motion was moved by Councilmember Hightower and seconded by Mr. Holston and carried 7–0.
Earlier in the meeting council moved to continue ordinance I0.1 (an amendment to Chapter 11, Article 2, Division 3 concerning the Minimum Housing Standards Commission) to the Nov. 18 meeting; Mr. Holston moved and Tammy Thurn seconded that continuation.
The council also appointed Jeremy Simpson to the Board of Adjustment by voice vote after a nomination and second.
No contested votes on ordinance adoptions were recorded; the meeting ended with council comments and a unanimous adjournment.
