Council approved an ordinance (02/2025) on March 27 appointing Walt Pounds to the Erie 4 Corners Business Improvement District board. Economic development staff presented an update on the BID, explained its role financing eligible public improvements in the 4 Corners area, and outlined the commercial opportunity and the 48‑month infrastructure timeline for build‑out of the commercial area.
Julian Jackwin and CJ Akers described the BID area, current residential activity and the scope of potential commercial development (roughly eight acres and up to ~100,000 square feet of commercial space). Walt Pounds introduced himself as a majority owner involved in the project and CJ Akers provided additional project context. Council approved the ordinance by voice vote.
