Casey Russo said she would take meeting minutes and Jamie Fisher outlined communications duties: "I'll be communicating, so sending out reminders about meetings as well as planning agendas for future meetings," Fisher said. With no other nominations, the board voted by voice to approve the co‑secretary arrangement.
Later in the meeting, a councilor urged the board to support regional cold‑weather shelter planning. The speaker noted the coalition's co‑chairs — Maria Harlow of United Way and Donna Detriel of New Opportunities — and said shelter beds and day‑time options serve Meriden residents and neighboring towns. The board agreed to invite the coalition or its representatives to present and included that outreach in the motion to approve the draft report.
The motion to approve the draft (including the homelessness-related additions) was seconded and passed by voice vote; the chair said the report will be sent to the city manager. The board adjourned at the end of the meeting.
