During budget acknowledgments, the court formally acknowledged receipt of the Pike County Sheriff's 2026 budget and later the Pike County Clerk's 2026 budget. A commissioner asked the clerk about a reported surplus in the clerk's budget; the clerk confirmed a $450,000 surplus with about $150,000 listed under capital and equipment and noted roughly $110,000 more revenue than the previous year. No formal spending decision on the surplus was made at the meeting.
The court also acknowledged an audit/settlement report for the Pike County Sheriff's Office covering the 2023 tax period ending Aug. 31, 2024. That item, like the other routine acknowledgments, passed on roll call.
The detention center manual was presented as the annual adoption and is available for public inspection in the fiscal court clerk’s office. Commissioner Scott moved to acknowledge receipt, Commissioner Lewis seconded, and the court recorded affirmative roll-call votes.
The meeting recorded no dissent on these routine items; the court proceeded to other agenda business afterward.
