Luke Fisher, facilities director, updated the board on building plans, staffing and facility projects. He said the county has scanned building plans into a shared drive, noted Beverly (administrative staff) is retiring and suggested honoring her service, and presented a help‑desk KPI (45.5 unplanned tickets, goal 50) indicating preventive maintenance is close to target.
Fisher said the winter weather shelter is under temporary occupancy with a few remaining punch‑list items (fire‑panel training, gas‑line upsizing by MidAmerican) and that facilities staff spent nights and weekends completing owner work the general contractor omitted. The department is compiling owner expenses to seek recovery related to the contractor's delays.
On staffing, Fisher said 144 qualified applicants applied for an administrative assistant position, narrowed to eight finalists, and interviews are underway. For security cameras, he said IT identified roughly 60 cameras incompatible with the new system; he presented vendor pricing for 100 replacement cameras and will bring separate installation proposals to the board, noting installation scheduling must account for staff availability and seasonal operations.
Fisher said he submitted 20 CIP projects for budget consideration and adjusted the board‑buildings utilities budget downward because one building is unoccupied. He will present camera and CIP proposals at the next meeting.
