One supervisor said fluorescent yellow "will be seen as an ambulance" and recommended proceeding even if the color choice added an estimated roughly $500 in cost, calling the expense justified for improved safety. The chairman asked staff to present a specific yellow shade for the board to consider at the Thursday meeting; staff agreed to return with the yellow option for formal consideration.
No final design vote was recorded at the committee meeting; the item will be presented for possible up-or-down action at the next board meeting.
