Resident urges city to review e‑bike rules after rising trail conflicts

He described e‑bikes as valuable for mobility—particularly for older residents—but noted they are growing more powerful and heavier and that the public appears unclear about the three recognized e‑bike classes and where each class may be used.
Kohout asked the subcommittee to consider the matter for a future agenda and offered to be a point of contact for members with interest in developing education or regulatory responses. Committee members said the topic would be brought to the broader Transportation & Parking Committee for formal consideration; one member who sits on that committee committed to summarizing its discussion back to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Subcommittee.
