Commission approves consent agenda; Denise DiVello re-elected chair, Carol Anthony named vice chair

The Fairbanks North Star Borough Senior Citizens Advisory Commission approved its consent agenda by unanimous roll-call vote at its Jan. 8 meeting. Commissioner recorded as Bobbie Tarkine moved to accept the consent agenda and Marlene Hunter seconded; the clerk recorded the vote as 6-0 in favor.
Commissioners then held officer elections for the year. Denise DiVello was nominated to continue as chair and accepted the nomination. Carol Anthony was nominated and accepted the position of vice chair. No opposing nominations were recorded. The chair noted nominations do not require a second under commission rules. The commission also confirmed event dates: Senior Recognition Day on May 7 and the 50 Plus event on May 8, with commission volunteers to assist with setup.
