Redmond planning commission continues High Desert Ranch hearing to Oct. 8

The Redmond Urban Area Planning Commission on Oct. 1 voted to continue the public hearing on the High Desert Ranch land‑use applications to Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Joey Shearer, a planner with AKS Engineering representing applicant Lennar, asked the commission to delay the hearing while the applicant assembles additional evidence responding to requests in the staff report. “We are actively working on additional evidence and arguments to address requests for additional information presented in the staff report,” Shearer said, and proposed the Oct. 8, 5:30 p.m. date.

A commissioner moved to continue the hearing to that date and another seconded the motion. The commission voted in favor and the chair announced the motion carried, scheduling the continued hearing for Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m.

The applications on the record include annexation, planned unit development, tentative subdivision and conditional use for the property identified in the hearing notice (listed by staff with case numbers and the site at 3220 Northwest Way in Redmond). Staff will incorporate any additional material submitted into the project record ahead of the rescheduled hearing and members of the public who wish to testify should re‑sign in per the posted procedures.

The next procedural step is the continued public hearing on Oct. 8; the commission will take testimony and consider the record at that meeting.
