Calvert County commissioners on Dec. 16 approved staff recommendations for the FY2026 Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund (CRRF), endorsing awards to 14 of 17 applicants and authorizing the county administrator to execute grant agreements.
Jennifer Moreland, director of community resources, said the CRRF program—established under Maryland’s Community Reinvestment and Repair Act—provides annual allocations to support community projects that advance equity, access and well‑being. Staff received 17 applications; 14 are recommended for funding after a structured review process that included community reviewers and internal quality assurance. Moreland said recommendations are contingent on final financial reviews and submission of required grant documents.
The recommendations are funded from the county’s FY2026 cannabis special revenue fund. Moreland and deputy director Jacqueline Culver described priority funding topics including youth after‑school programming, housing and homelessness prevention, services for survivors of domestic violence, workforce development, and supports for people impacted by incarceration. Staff stated the award list and amounts are in attachment A of the meeting materials.
A motion to approve the FY2026 CRRF funding recommendations and to authorize the county administrator to sign grant agreements concurrently with disbursement passed by voice vote.
