The board heard public testimony in support of the project. Gary Swan, a long‑term Lake Louise resident and former volunteer firefighter, said the plan to combine space for snowmachine-club equipment and firefighting equipment would be "a very positive move" provided the planning is done properly. Lisa Gray, the borough’s land management agent, told the commission the borough has issued a right of entry for the community association and will resolve a setback issue created by a right-of-way. "We're gonna resolve that," Gray said, and said the surveyor will confirm the as‑built condition.
Gray also explained the borough owns the peninsula parcel and does not plan to subdivide borough-owned land to convey part of the parcel to an adjacent private owner, though she said she would discuss the request with her supervisor. Board members questioned whether the public packet and materials available at the meeting reflected the Condition No. 3 language; one commissioner said explicitly reading the condition into the record would remove ambiguity before approval.
With public hearings closed, a board member moved to approve the preliminary plat of Lake Louise Snow, Section 28 Township 06 North, Range 07 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, contingent on staff recommendations; the motion passed. The approval is contingent on the specified staff conditions and any required as‑built survey or surveyor’s letter certifying there are no setback violations. The plat will proceed under those conditions and follow-up by borough land management and planning staff.
