The plan updates risk assessments, mitigation strategies and implementation actions across the operational area and member agencies. Staff said the county adopted the plan in December and that adoption by each member agency is required for individual grant eligibility.
Why it matters: adoption allows the district to apply for FEMA and Cal OES funding tied to identified mitigation projects such as stormwater mitigation, infrastructure hardening and resilience projects. Staff recommended approval and said annexed mitigation projects will help guide capital improvement and grant applications.
Board action: a motion to adopt Resolution 26‑05 passed. Board members discussed updating department contact names and ensuring technical details (for example, economic impacts of dam failure) are captured in future iterations.
