Council adopted Resolution R2026-209 approving technical amendments to the Manassas 2045 comprehensive plan after a multi-stage public process that included planning commission hearings and a town hall.
Staff summarized six changes made after planning commission action: edits to HUBZone references, several sidewalk and land-use map adjustments, and a recommendation to evaluate Quarry Road as a higher priority for future sidewalk improvements. Staff also updated the plan’s strategic vision to match the council’s strategic plan.
The planning commission had recommended approval and staff said the amendments reflected public comments and minor technical tweaks. Council moved and adopted the resolution on roll call vote; no substantive changes were proposed at the meeting.
Next steps: Planning staff will continue implementation work and provide annual updates on plan implementation and metrics through the planning commission.
