Burleson ISD on Jan. 12 opened the public hearing required for the 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) and reviewed high-level district financials for the current year.
District staff explained the TAPR public hearing is a statutory requirement and noted that printed copies of the completed annual report are available at central administration, campus front offices and on the TEA website. Staff highlighted that the district is accredited and continues to "outperform state averages of students on grade level in grade 3," citing reading and math measures and college-career-military readiness indicators.
Following the TAPR summary the board received monthly financials from Brenda Meis/Mize. Staff reported general fund revenues of about $46,700,000 with expenditures at approximately $42.6 million and a general fund balance of $37,500,000. The capital projects report noted the Mound Gym project is nearly complete and tax-report collections for November totaled just over $5,000,000 for the year. Staff said fund balances are sufficient to cover upcoming payments.
The board closed the TAPR hearing without public questions and did not take action beyond receiving the report and financial highlights.
