James Sirock, chairman of the Commonwealth Public Utilities Commission, told members the commission supports the appointment.
Representative Joel Camacho, chair of the Judiciary and Governmental Operations Committee (JGO), reported the committee met earlier, reviewed the nominee’s qualifications and background, and recommended confirmation to the full House. The floor leader moved to confirm the nominee pursuant to 4 CMC § 8403(a); the motion was seconded and taken by recorded roll call.
After the clerk announced the unanimous vote, the Speaker congratulated the nominee. The House recessed briefly for a photo opportunity and then returned to the agenda.
