The Buellton City Planning Commission re-elected Shannon Reese as chair and elected Commissioner Contreras as vice chair during its recent meeting, after approving minutes from Dec. 18.
The commission approved the Dec. 18 minutes on a voice vote after a motion and second. Commissioners Campbell, Contreras, Kopp and Chair Reese recorded "aye" votes and the motion passed.
A motion to re-elect Shannon Reese as chair was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. Later in the meeting, commissioners nominated and voted to elect Commissioner Contreras as vice chair.
Commissioners discussed appointments to the Green Team, noting the committee meets every other month (odd months) on a Thursday afternoon, typically from 3 to 5 p.m., usually via Zoom and often shorter than the scheduled two hours. Staff described the Green Team’s role as citizen-led discussions on sustainability topics such as landscape rebate programs, the thousand-tree initiative and bike-street events. Several commissioners said scheduling conflicts make service difficult; the commission agreed to agendize formal Green Team appointments at the next meeting so absent members can participate in the decision.
There were no public comments or consent-agenda items reported. The meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
