Candace Rodriguez, communications and public relations manager for the Mission EDC, said the Sherryland Business Park — developed by Killam Development and located near Anzaldua's Bridge — will support logistics, manufacturing, cold storage and distribution. The EDC characterized the project as an estimated $275,000,000 investment that will strengthen Mission’s role in regional logistics and international trade.
Rodriguez also reported Build Mission fund activity for the current cycle: 42 applications were received; 15 mission-based small businesses received grants of up to $15,000 each, totaling $225,000 reinvested locally. She listed several awardees and described EDC partnerships with UTRGV MarketLab and other local institutions to support entrepreneur programming.
Council acknowledged the report with thanks; staff noted the EDC’s 2025 annual report was released in print and digital formats and includes QR-linked project highlights. No action item was required; staff presented the report for informational purposes.
