Council adopts ordinance selling small municipal lot to Castle Holdings LLC

The Hutchinson City Council on Jan. 13 adopted Ordinance No. 25-870, authorizing sale of a small municipal lot on the south side of the former Shopko building to Castle Holdings LLC. City staff told the council that nothing in the purchase agreement has changed since the first reading and that an easement agreement preserving parking along Fireman's Park and related drainage and utility easements will be included in a forthcoming packet.
"Nothing's changed since the first reading of the ordinance," a staff member said while asking the council to approve the second reading and adopt the ordinance. Council members moved, seconded and approved the ordinance on the second reading.
The sale moves forward subject to the final easement documentation and the purchase agreement terms previously reviewed by the council.
