School committee approves three student trips, including two a cappella competitions and an overnight farm trip

Committee members discussed the request and approved it by roll call following a motion and second.
A separate same‑day request for the Conservatory to attend the Kingswood Oxford School a cappella festival in Connecticut on Jan. 24, 2026 also passed after presenters corrected a location typo in the original request.
The committee also approved an overnight trip for fourth‑ and fifth‑grade students from Bowles Elementary to Red Gate Farm in Ashfield, Mass., scheduled June 1–3, 2026; the principal and superintendent described curriculum links to district priorities and the educational goals for the overnight experience.
All three motions were moved and seconded on the floor and approved by roll‑call vote with affirmative votes recorded by the clerk. No member recorded a dissenting vote during the roll calls presented to the committee.
