"I think first, we should see about a walk through, try to get the walk through in so that then if we do the walk through, then we have something to just, you know, to to offer in terms of, like, where they're at," an attendee said. Others warned that a walk-through could inflame public frustration if DOT is already reconsidering designs.
Participants suggested pairing a walk-through with a public hearing on the same day so that visual context and public comment happen together. Leadership did not make a final decision at the meeting but directed staff to pursue scheduling a walk-through and to coordinate with DOT, parks and highway representatives so the board and stakeholders can view the current plans and discuss next steps.
Next steps: leadership will seek a site walk-through date, coordinate which agency representatives will attend, and consider a same-day public hearing if DOT can present updated designs.
