North Pocono board approves superintendent contract, major facilities contracts and budget measures

The North Pocono School District Board of Education on Jan. 14 unanimously approved a package of contracts, personnel actions and financial measures that the administration said will support facilities upkeep, district operations and a multiyear contract for its superintendent.
The board voted 7–0 to approve a new employment contract for Dr. Daniel J. Powell as superintendent, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029. After the vote, Dr. Powell thanked the board “for the confidence and support” and said he looked forward to continuing to work with district administrators, faculty and staff.
In facilities business, the board voted to accept a proposal not to exceed $2,363,569.74 from C and D Weatherproofing Corporation for roof restoration at North Pocono High School (motion carried 7–0). The resolution materials state the pricing is based on the Keystone Purchasing Network contract KPNA-two50D and include an alternative line item of roughly $21,506.60.
