Town: culvert work pending while work orders, contract details are reworked

"We are in the process of working with the contractor to get them back on track right now. I don't have a designated time to give you," a Public Works representative said. He explained that the town must revise work orders and contract paperwork because the contractor is also performing other town work, such as catch basin work, and the town must coordinate those assignments and legal terms before heavy work resumes.
Committee members expressed frustration that contractor equipment and materials have been on site for extended periods. Public Works confirmed a stockpile of sand and rock on South Sea Road is town property used for town projects and not an indicator of imminent culvert installation by the contractor.
Next steps: Public Works will continue negotiations and internal contract revisions with legal and will provide updates to the committee when a start date is determined.
