School committee members discussed logistics and confidentiality for the superintendent’s 360 evaluation and agreed on a process and timeline.
Chair David Hiltz said he will work with the superintendent to develop evaluation questions aligned to the district goals and the committee’s stated priorities. Committee members emphasized anonymity safeguards and the prior practice of central receipt (a confidential secretary or similar mechanism). The group settled on using a Google form to collect anonymous responses, with a proposed launch on Jan. 29 and a one‑week response window that would close on Feb. 4 at 11:59 p.m. Members asked for modest open‑ended fields (not full essays) to allow context beyond yes/no answers.
The committee also agreed the evaluation pool should include building principals and other direct reports, union leadership, and selected community stakeholders; several members asked the superintendent to ensure coverage from special education representatives and municipal partners who work closely with the district (e.g., facilities, police, fire). The superintendent said he would propose names after consultation with his administrative team and return with the drafted instrument at the next meeting.
The committee did not vote to approve a final instrument at this meeting; the decision was procedural direction to staff to prepare the form and participant list.
