The Harpers Ferry Town Council confirmed several commission appointments during its Jan. 12 meeting. Jay Shrivastava was nominated for a vacancy on the Water Commission (term through Dec. 31, 2028) and received a roll-call confirmation during the meeting.
The council also handled reappointments and nominations to the Historic Landmarks Commission. Nominations were opened and closed for two seats; Ted Willis and Bart Wheatley were nominated and approved by roll call. Council recorded affirmative votes and announced the results during the meeting.
Chair and council members followed the town’s nomination and roll-call procedures: the chair opened nominations, members proposed candidates, nominations were closed, and the body conducted roll-call votes. Where letters of interest were on file for candidates, the council indicated they would confirm or follow up with written notice to appointees.
